Last evening, as I was driving from skating practice to The Borough in downtown Raleigh for a bite to eat, the funniest thing happened! I was on Capital Boulevard, closer to Raleigh than to the Beltline, thank goodness (because there are many more lanes of traffice on N. Capital than closer in to town), and just missed being able to go through the light at the intersection with Hodges Road. I wouldn’t have been able to go, anyway, because at that moment, two small flocks of geese were crossing the road! One flock crossed in one direction and one flock in the other! I think it’s Crabtree Creek that runs nearby, which may have been why the geese were so close to Capital in the first place! Luckily, stopped at the light in the opposite direction, there happened to be a police cruiser. The officer drove his car sideways and blocked the lanes in that direction, sounding his loud horn to hurry the crazy geese along! I didn’t mind stopping, though. I thought it was funny! Damn crazy geese!
Really nothing more to say than that. HB and I are going dancing tonight to honor MJ’s memory. Our favorite DJ will be spinning crazy amounts of MJ, we’re sure. Sad.

I don’t ever actually get to do storytime outside — not that I would, given the chance — but today’s theme was picnics. Thinking about this theme while I was in the shower brought to mind the song Ladybugs’ Picnic. Watch:
So cute! I sang it to my preschool storytime group this morning, and the kids helped count my 12 ladybugs as I sang. When I was done, one little boy said, “That was a neat song!”
