On our way to Chapel Hill for brunch, HB and I passed the Iron Horse on Hwy. 64. Their sign read… well, you can see it above! HB and I giggled about it the whole way to Chapel Hill and back!
We stopped so I could take a photo of the sign and this man thought it was funny that I wanted to take his picture with the sign. I should probably print it out and bring it to the place so they can put it on the wall with the rest of the crazy photos they had hung up inside.
My best favorite thing inside was the Flat Stanley that a child had sent to his uncle in Iraq. The soldiers dressed Flat Stanley up in protective gear and took him on patrols, to the gym, to meet local kids, etc. and took photos of it all! Flat Stanley was also in the convoy the day they were hit by an IED. Luckily, not one soldier was badly hurt in that incident — they were all lucky! It was probably the best Flat Stanley I have ever seen — much better even than Jack Nicholson’s red carpet version!
The folks were funny and welcoming, and in all it was neat to visit a new place, even if they thought I was weird for wanting to take a picture of the sign!
